But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. Ephesians 2:4-9
He loves us! When we are unlovable, He loves us. When we are slimy and putrid, He loves us. When we were lost, swallowed up by sin and darkness, He loved us. He has given us more than mere salvation; He has adopted us, we are family. He has and will continue to bestow all the rights, perks and joys of the kingdom upon us. We are His; He feels our pain, feels our loneliness. His hand is on us when we are down and depressed, when we are lost in hopelessness, when we are overcome. He loves us, and oh how great is His love!
I found a few days ago an old notebook a friend bought me to jot down my thoughts in. I found a rigid poem which I had scribbled down years back. I hope you will find encouragement therin.
Note from God
Dear Child,
I know the plans I have for you.
I know your valleys, your mountains too.
I know when it’s hard, and I know when there’s pain.
I see you when you’re standing out in the rain.
I hear your cries, and I know your voice.
When you sing praises, I do rejoice.
I know how you feel, when the road seems so long.
Remember I once sang a familiar song.
So hold on to me, and trust what I say.
Seek me and find me everyday.
Open the doors you have locked deep inside.
I know where you are, don’t try to hide.
I know that it’s strong, and I know what is true.
Don’t ever forget, my child I love you.
Hold close to me, it will always betide,
The peace that I give you deep down inside.
