When weakness is strength - 2 Corinthians 12:9

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 2 Cor 12:9

Have you ever watched "The World's Strongest Man" competition? Those guys are crazy strong! They flip over telephone poles, lift large boulders, carry refrigerators; I feel weak just watching them squat a Volkswagen.  These guys are mentally and physically prepared for these events; so we call them strong.

As Christians we try to be "God's Spiritually Strongest Christian". We pride ourselves in Bible study, prayer and good works; these are all good things. We are walking along doing great, feeling pretty good about ourselves and our walk.  Then something happens, something comes up that is bigger than us.  We can't do it, we can't overcome it.  Then the realization hits us; we are weak.

This realization comes as a hard blow to us; we want to be strong, be lifted up, and be thought powerful.  However, we are weak. We get down and out, we get depressed; then we find ourselves telling God we are weak and asking Him to take away our weakness.  It is then we find strength, not our strength but His.  See He tells us very passionately, "No. I will not take away your weakness, it brings you close to Me, it makes you rely on Me. I will be your strength!".

Take your weakness to God, but do not be surprised when He will not take it away from you.  Allow Him to be truly strong in you; then you will overcome that which cannot be overcome, then will the impossible be made possible and then will the unreachable be reached for Jesus.  Only when the power of Jesus Christ is manifested in you, will God do great things through you!
