Nothing left! - 2 Timothy 4:7

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7 (NKJV)

I learned a valuable lesson playing high school football: leave everything on the field.  Give everything you have to give with every play, and when the last buzzer sounds walk away with your head held high knowing you withheld nothing; you had nothing left to give.

What if we treated life like the Friday night big game? What if we started following God with everything we have; holding nothing back?  Could we make a difference? Absolutely! If we will be obedient to God and fully surrender all to Him, He will use us in magnificent ways; He will rock our socks off and many will be added to the family of God!

I hope to have many years left here on Earth; I may have few.  Either way I wish to some day imitate the words of Paul to his protégé Timothy in 2 Tim. 4:7.  I want to fight the good fight, finish the race, keep the faith; I want to hold nothing back and leave everything on the field of life.  I want to have nothing left as I take my last breath.

Holy Lord, use all of me for I am Yours.  Let every piece of my being, my person, be used for your glory.  Let my light shine so that men would see Your goodness, Your grace, and Your love through me.  Take my life and use it up; I beg You that on my death bed that You would use the last drop of my earthly life up completely for Your glory.  I wish to leave this world having nothing left!  Your great will, above mine, be done. In the name of Your Son, my savior I beseech You, Amen.
