Then our mouth was filled with laughter, And our tongue with singing. Then they said among the nations, "The Lord has done great things for them." Psalm 126:2 (NKJV)
My daughter loves to laugh; to the point where sometimes she seems to burst out in spontaneous laughter. Sometimes she will run through the house, fall down, and then look at me and laugh, “boom!” She manages to find the simplest little things humorous and she cackles. Yes she is two, but we could all learn a valuable lesson from her.
We should learn to laugh often. Laughter reduces stress levels and helps us be happier individuals. We need to learn to laugh at ourselves when we do silly things or make mistakes. We need to learn to laugh at tough situations and downsize them from critical to inconvenient. Laughter is a wonderful medicine. Laughter is a gift from God.
A heart at peace with God should laugh and be joyful. He has overcome the world, He has saved us; our burdens and daily strife is little compared to the majesty of our God and the glories that He has in store fore us. So laugh! Laugh in the face of adversity, laugh when everything is going rough, laugh when all is going well, just laugh. True laughter makes the heart light and allows joy to flow in. Laughter is exhilarating and refreshing and it is tons of fun.
You know God wants you to laugh! He loves you, and after all He did invent laughing. So take time to laugh on a regular basis; you know I bet Jesus did!
